Commercial HVAC Replacement Electrical Coordination Checklist

Print this worksheet and bring your notes to your consultation. Updated September 24, 2026.

Use this worksheet when planning an HVAC replacement in an occupied commercial property. Share it with the HVAC contractor, electrician, and property representative before confirming delivery and shutdown dates. It organizes decisions; the qualified project team determines the technical requirements.

Collect documents and observations from normally accessible areas. Electrical measurements, equipment opening, roof access, isolation, and reconnection belong to the authorized project team.

1. Identify the equipment and location

  • Record the property, tenant space, equipment location, and areas served.
  • Obtain the exact proposed model, approved submittal, installation manual, and accessory list.
  • Have the HVAC contractor confirm equipment selection and identify changes from the existing system.
  • Ask the electrician to review the specified voltage, phase, circuit ampacity, and protection requirements.
